Dear Open Source, Open Science and Open Education colleagues,
we are pleased to communicate that very low conference fees have been set ([geoservice.ist.supsi.ch/ogrs/#registration]) and happy to announce that Dr Susanne Bleisch (Professor of Geovisualization and Visual Analytics at FHNW) and Dr Luc Henry (Open Science advisor at EPFL) accepted to give enlightening keynote talks on Open Science and Open Education.

Among some special sessions, please consider also submitting your developments and respective usage stories of open educational resources in the geospatial domain to the GeoOER session.
Additional information about other keynote speakers, special sessions and awards will soon be communicated.

But also, importantly, due to a high number of requests, we agreed to postpone the abstract submission deadline to the 21.06.2018 (~ 500 words).

Happy Open Science to all of you!

Best regards,
OGRS'2018 organizing committee.

Dear all,
we are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the OGRS'18 symposium that is currently ongoing: [easychair.org/cfp/OGRS2018].

After Nantes 2009, Yverdon-les-Bains 2012, Espoo 2014 and Perugia 2016, in 2018 the Open Geospatial Research and Education Symposium (OGRS) will be held in Lugano from 9th to 11th of October 2018. This year, the theme is "open science in practice".

Submit your contributions to be presented as an oral presentation during research and education sessions. While the call is also open for posters and workshops, this year there will be a special session showcasing interactive open educational resources, with the 1st OGRS GeoOER Award to win (sponsored by GITTA, the Geographic Information Technology Training Alliance).

Best regards,
OGRS organizing committee.
